Q: My iphone 6S just randomly removed pictures. Last night they were there. This mornign random pictures are now missing. HOW DO I FIND AND RESTORE these?

My iPhone 6s is running iOS 9.3.2, I have 55.6 GB and 34.2 GB available.

My phone just RANDOMLY removed pictures from my photo library. I could see these photos last night -- this morning chunks of pictures are now missing. Sometimes its several in a row and in other places 1-2 are gone.

I need to know HOW to retrieve them and then HOW to prevent this from happening again. Not only are they gone from my phone, but from my previously downloaded icloud pictures.

Thanks for the help.

What are your iCloud Photo settings on your phone?

    Settings > iCloud > Photos

Do you back up your phone?

Yes I back up my phone but it has been 2 weeks and I've taken several photos since then that I need for a lawsuit that are now missing from my phone.

My <iCloud photo Library settings are:

    Optimize iPhone Storage

    Upload to my photo stream

    upload burst photos

    Thanks for the help

Your backup up is of no value then.

If you are only using Photo Stream, then again, this only keeps photos for 30 days OR 1000 photos, whichever happens first. Have you signed in at icloud,.com and checked there?
