First, (if possible) rule out faulty USB docking cable as the cause by trying a difference cable, or use the current cable with another device to confirm it works properly.

If you have not already, do a Restart on the iPhone

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Also, shut down (power off) computer and disconnect all USB devices. You can leave standard USB keyboard/mouse connected, if used. If your computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter so that it's not running on battery power. Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect iPhone to a direct USB port on the computer, by itself.

If that does help, and the iPhone is recognized by the computer but not by iTunes, try this procedure to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service

Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows - Apple Support

If that does not help either, you may want to completely remove iTunes and related software components. This Apple document lists all components of an iTunes installation, and the precise order to uninstall them

Then download and install the latest version of iTunes

I don't think your the only one. The latest update has bricked my ipad 2, I was trying to sort it late last night and have tried all the online helps and had customer support...strangely I cannot access any of the support or logs or my personal details ( cover etc ) for that ipad...my new ipad and very one series one can be checked. I think 9.3.2 (which I was updating at the time) is the cause. I hope they resolve this or I have a new tea coaster 😟
