ok thanks

another thing i was wondering is can the 30 gb ipod video hold about 20 tv show episodes, 5 movies, a few music videos and still have enough space for more songs if i wanted them?

because if i buy the 30 i'd want to be able to hold a few tv shows, movies, music videos and songs and i just was wondering how much space i'd have left with all those on

Yes, movies if you rip and convert them are around 500 meg or so, and if you get them from Itunes they can be around 1.3 gig or so (just an average) and tv shows if you get them from itunes about 500 meg and if you import and convert your own much less

So 20 tv shows around 10 gig. five movies worse case 6.5 gig so probably less then 17 gig. Now this depends on if you convert them or if you get them from itunes. the above figure is with getting them from itunes. If you rip and convert your own, it will be much less. So answer is yes.

how do you rip them? i never knew you could do that

do you have to buy a program to rip movies?

and if so is it worth it?

and ripping take less space then buying from itunes?

You can use a program like decrypter, that will allow you to put them on your computer then you will convert them to mpeg4 format so they can be read by itunes.
It is a free program, google it.

Ripping your own movie and buying from itunes are two different things. Itunes do take up more room because they are at a higher resolution and other factors. but really two seperate things.

would that mean that has itunes a better quality on the ipod than ripping the movies?

and if so how much of a difference is it?

also i have a friend who got her music videos from limewire and the sound doesn't line up with the video

is that what would happen with ripping the videos or was hers just poorly done?

thanks for helping me it takes me a while to fully understand things

As for right now, yes itunes has movies in a higer resolution then most can load them to.

Videos or just about anything on limewire is illeagal so are not really discussed on these forums.

And if you use a good converter program the sound should sync with the video. Try this program, it works great and is free
