After connecting my iPad Air to my Android phones hotspot successfully I cannot use the data.

I'm trying to access the internet on my iPad Air via my Xperia E's hotspot. My phone is using Android 4.1.1 but, even though it's registering as connected, when I try to access the internet it's failing saying "no internet connection" I have recently changed service provider and the problem has coincided with this. (From Vodafone to Lycamobile)
