Cannot view audiobooks by author
I just updated iTunes to version 12.4.0.119 and I cannot view my audiobooks library by author. Nothing comes up. Any help?

Yes. It sorts my audiobooks by author on the right side. But when I click on author in the left field, no audiobooks show up at all in the right field. It used to show all the authors in a list on the left with just their biooks in the right, but now, nothing shows up in either side.
Strange. It works here. Authors in the left column, click an author in the next column, see their works in the main panel.

Exactly! I have no clue what happened during the upgrade.An annoyance, to be sure, but I can work around it, I suppose. I hate when I know a program can do something, but not for me!
I have the same problem. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO tired of itunes updates that change everything to the way "they" think things should work [and of course the things DON'T work].
The Authors view under Library does not show any audiobooks at all. With "Books" selected as the media type, clicking Audiobooks in the sidebar gives the expected result:
Selecting Authors under library gives a blank screen - this is the same as I get when selecting Books so I suspect that "Authors" here (whether by intention or the result of a bug) is showing authors of eBooks and not audiobooks.
The only way I can restore the pre-12.4 authors view is in a playlist containing audiobooks - unlike the selections under Library, there's an option in the View menu to show the playlist contents by author:
This is a great solution! One further suggestion to get everything back to the way it was. Go to View...Hide Sidebar , then you just have 2 columns/screens. Clicking All Artists will give you your entire library.
1) Create smart playlist of audiobook media 2) View..View as...Author 3) Hide the sidebar
Note: you'll have to Unhide the sidebar for other media types.
