Q: Ethernet Connect Problem
I normally have an ethernet cable connecting my Time Capsule to my iMac... I've got a Netgear Router connected to my Time Capsule, and the Time Capsule is in the Bridge Mode.
Out of the blue, I am getting a "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP Address and will not be able to connect to the internet," message on Network Preferences, with the ethernet cable attached to my iMac.
I am able to connect the ethernet cable, normally attached to the iMac, to a MacBook Pro, and the connection there is perfect (so the cable is good).
Also, if I connect the ethernet cable to a Thunderbolt adapter, and connect it to my iMac, the connection is ok.
I've restarted the iMac, and reset the ethernet cable a few times, with no success... Not sure if there is a preference file that I ought to delete (or which one). Did a repair permissions, with no change in behavior.
WiFi on the iMac works ok...
Thanks for any thoughts out there...

Final update...
Seems that my Netgear router, for some unknown reason, began to have a conflict with my iMac's IP address...
Reset the Netgear router, and all's well with the internet-world...
Now, if I could just figure out what caused the problem in the first place... Oh well...bedtime...
