Q: Shared files?

Hi everyone I'm about to uninstall FCS 2 and reinstall it to try and work the kinks out that I've experienced  since upgrading my OS X Operating System to El Capitan. Prior to uninstalling Final Cut Suite 2 I get this warning.

REMOVING SHARED FILES MAY CAUSE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES IF YOU DON'T REINSTALL

You should only remove shared files if you intend to reinstall Final Cut Studio again, otherwise the other Apple Pro Apps on your system may break. Ager reinstalling, make sure to run software Update to get the latest updates.

I don't want to lose any of my projects or project files. I do intend on reinstalling almost immediately after uninstalling. I hate to admit this but I'm not exactly sure what a shared file is and if this will affect any of my projects or project files. Thank you for help.
