How Can I Be Informed When There's An OS X Update?
I found out about the 10.11.5 update by going to the App Store. Is there a way I can get Apple to inform me of future OS X updates?
Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Hi..
Open System Preferences > App Store then click: Automatically check for updates
As it mentions in the App Store pane, you will be notified when the updates are ready to be installed.

OS X will notify you with a reminder in the upper-right corner of your screen when you have updates ready to be installed.
Was already enabled, but I wasn't informed.
Has never happened and I've had Macs for 17 years (though Notifications didn't exist with Mac OS 8.5).

Happens for me all the time. I don't use the App Store all that much unless I need something, so those reminders are the only way I'll know to update my system.
