Trouble installing windows 10 (partitions)

Hello,

i keep getting an error message when i try to install Windows 10 "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files". I have a free NTFS formatted partition (#5) but it won't install.

Apparently, windows 10 cannot accept more than 4 primary drives (thats what i read from a quick search). However, i have 3 partitions for macOSX:

- EFI

- Main macintosh HD (Apple Core storage)

- Recovery HD (Apple Boot)

Since Bootcamp seems to create two additional partitions, how in god's name can i install windows 10 ??

Boot Camp Assistant creates a Windows partition on a OSX formatted drive. Not on a NTFS formatted partition.

Thank you but I created my NTFS partition during the Windows 10 installation phase and that went well.

The issue I have after formatting my bootcamp Windows partition in NTFS, I have 5 partitions on my main drive and windows refuses to install on said NTFS partition with the error message above.

and I don't understand why.

If the installer says that it couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one, disconnect any Thunderbolt storage devices connected to your Mac. Reconnect them after installing Windows. from…
