Q: Multi-Devices In Health App

I had a previous smart watch that did basic functions as in steps sleep and so forth, I got the apple watch on Sunday paired it up no problem. When I went into the devices under health app it said share information with "Misfit" but the icon wasn't there. That was the app that did the previous stuff. I finally got the deleted off. by re downloading the app. After it was downloaded I deleted the app and also said delete all it data..Then I was on the phone with most bonehead "senior" adviser. I followed what they told me to do and now I had 4 apple watches.. The problem is every time it re pairs it self it has the same name so I have to figure out which one it is and put it on top of the list for sleep heart rate , steps and what ever else it monitors. There has to be a way to delete the old devices. I even deleted all my health stuff from the start of time. Those 4 devices are still showing,

    Hi

It is not presently possible to edit the watch's name as listed within the Health app.

If you are happy to lose all data stored by the Health app on your iPhone (including Activity data, Achievements and Workout data) - and also to lose other sensitive data on your iPhone including HomeKit data, saved passwords and Wi-Fi settings - then you can remove all previous "versions" of your watch from the Health app by following these steps:

To reiterate: this will result in the permanent loss of all accumulated Activity and Health data from all sources.

You would also need to add any cards back to Apple Pay on both devices.

Yea, i was thinking along those lines of doing that but VIA iCloud, My iTunes is encrypted as well but like you said previously just turn that off. I reset all items minus doing a hard reset. The reason I wanted to do that it bothers me seeing 6 different apple watches... What do u suggest? ie Keep it showing or hard reset. btw Thanks for the intel mate.

If seeing the 6 watches listed under Data Sources sources bothers you, I suggest following the steps described above.

Note that the priority order for data sources determines which source is used when more than one device supplies data for the same time period.

You may find that the default priority order is adequate for your needs; the Health app automatically prioritises data from iPhone, iPod touch and Apple Watch above any other third-party apps and Bluetooth devices.

Yea, I just use my phone and my apple watch, but the thing about the six devices it  says Apple watch x5 and then I renamed it to say something different. When I click on the other 5 devices it says, This apple watch isnt paired. So the next question I have to think about is. Does it really matter what the priority line is if the other 5 isn't connect. Thanks for helping me out/ explaining this mate,

Only one of the six watches that are listed will actually be sharing any future data to the Health app, so there will be no conflict or issue with having the other five still listed.

If you would like to suggest that Apple considers adding the option to remove redundant Apple Watch sources from the Health app (without needing to follow the solution above), you can do so here:

You mentioned in one of your other threads:

.. Not sure if you remember me re many devices in health app I just wiped my phone out back up from iCloud

If you intended to follow the suggestion in this thread, but have just restored your iPhone from an iCloud backup, note that you instead need to backup your iPhone to iTunes as an unencrypted backup (ensure that the option to "Encrypt iPhone backup" is not selected / checked), erase the iPhone and then restore it from that unencrypted backup, as described in the steps detailed above before pairing your watch again:

    Re: Multi-Devices In Health App

iCloud backups are always encrypted (this cannot be turned off), so restoring from an iCloud backup will put back the Health app information that you want to remove.

Setting your iPhone up as new would also work, but all previous settings would obviously also be lost (in addition to the sensitive data).
