Q: My sent emails that include a link to my website are not delivered

I have had problems for months with emails that I have sent not arriving. I have spoken for hours to consultants who have gone through my settings over and over. I finally twigged, that any email I sent that included a link to my website never arrive. It has nothing to do with my Mac, and everything to do with Apple. For some reason, some Apple mechanism is suddenly blocking these emails. An online consultant I was dealing with has sent all the info to Mac, weeks ago. And there has been no reply. My business is going down the drain as I cannot link people to my website. I don't know where to go.

Does the URL of your website contain any text tat might trigger a SPAM filter?

Have you tested to send an email with the link to a friend who could disable all SPAM filtering and check, if the email arrives marked as SPAM?

I dont believe this is so. Other people including the Apple consultant, have tested sending an email to themselves, on various systems, which include the link and the emails don't arrive. The link to my film company is part of my email signature and has been fine for years and now out of the blue, it stops any email arriving to the recipient.

Have you tried to find out which part of the URL of you website is triggering the problem?

try with including only a part of the URL, making it longer and longer, until you know where it is starting to break.

the host of the website, Wordpress tell me they have checked the website and there is nothing wrong from their end and it must be an Apple blocking problem

But try to find out exactly which part of the web site address is causing this. It may be an unfortunate combination of letters.  For example, Apple's print products store refused any delivery address where the name of the street contained the letters P and O  in that sequence, because the name of the street would be treated as a Post Office Box.  It is probably something silly like that.

OK so my address is (and I will put gaps in it here in case it is blocked) four donkey films.com.  I have tried sending fourfilms.com and fourdonkeys.com and donkeyfilms.com and they all work, but as soon as I put the full title four donkey films.com (without gaps) it fails.

    I made a few tests:

I can send "four donkey films.com (without gaps)" if I do not mail from my iCloud mail but using our university network  and send it to our university account.

If I omit the ":com" or insert an "X" between donkey and films it will work with iCloud  mail.

Also, if I omit the last "s" and shorten the domain by one letter it will work.

It is only your exact full url that is trapping the mail.

And adding a prefix like "index" does not help either. I tried "index/four donkey films.com (without gaps)", it is trapped too. It looks like your domain were blocked.

I'll try to get others to jump in and help. Perhaps our Mail experts have a bright idea.

Apple does, or did in the past, scan iCloud mail and if it find objectional (**** is one) content the mail message never gets delivered. The sender is never notified that the message was never delivered. I remember this from about two years ago.

What could trigger the Nanny filter in this case, lllaass?  Any one of the constituent  words in the URL will  be mailed on their own,  Only the full URL is rejected?

At the time Apple never said what criteria they used to "censor" mail messages. It could be just error in determining that the URL is to an objectional site.  That happens sometimes with blacklisting.

Thanks for all those observations. You are quite right in that it is only the actual exact link to the domain which triggers the block. There is absolutely no reason for Apple to object to the site it is perfectlly harmless.  The consultant told me it has happened before and although he could probably fix it Apple won't allow him and has to be done by their engineers. The link works perfectly when entered into google or any search engine, only emails.

the problem is how to get to the Apple people responsible and tell them they are effecting your business and to get it fixed. It is outrageous.
