Question on how Facial Recognition works in Photos app

Best bet is to play with it

basically when you import Photos scans for faces in the background and if it thinks a face matches an existing one it flags it so next time you look at the faces album there is a set of suggested faces at the bottom of the page which you approve or disapprove

To save these during export you need to select identified faces and assign a keyword to them so you have exportable metadata identifying the face

Look like faces to me - Who said only living human faces? It is the rocks and spots on the wall that it calls faces that I find amusing
