I assume it says "flash drive" it's the same thing.
What does it say
In information next to solid state it says - no.
Do you have a Fusion Drive? If so, it will say no, if "Fusion Drive" is selected and yes if "Macintosh HD" is selected.
No, I have a standard internal HDD. This is an external SSD (which I boot from and has OS X).
If I had to guess I would think it's just because it's not feeding Disk Utility the info. Maybe because of the enclosure it's in.
It's a recent Lacie unit.
That was what I expected.
USB/SSD drive will not show up as SSD drive in the system report - they require different interfaces (SATA or PCI-e) to be registered as SSD (with SMART statusand TRIM etc).
