IPhone 6s Plus 4K video not playing smoothly on PC

So I have this film project that I am doing for school and I am using my iPhone 6s Plus to record. I am using the Filmic Pro app to record at 4K at 100mbps. when I transfer the files to my PC for playback, the resolution is horrible, not 4K, more like 720p, and it is stuttery. I wasnt even able to play them, but then I installed Quicktime and was able to, but like I said the video resolution and framerate is horrible. I thought maybe it was just QuickTime so I imported the clips to Premiere Pro and exported it. The frame issue seems to be fixed, but the quality is still bad. Does anyone have any tip? Is it a software issue?

Does the video play smoothly on the iPhone? Its most likely a problem with the PC. 4K playback and editing takes quite a powerful computer.

What are your system specs?

Convert it to a lower resolution.

Depending on your PC hardware, you might not have a powerful enough graphics card

I agree. Only some of the most powerful PC's can edit 4K video smoothly. My 2015 15" Retina MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM struggles with it! (Also recorded on iPhone 6S Plus...)

And also, when you say "PC," I'm assuming you're using Windows. If you are, you should uninstall QuickTime. Apple recently announced that they've discontinued it and it has some big security problems.

i believe my computer is more than capable of editing 4K. I have a i7 4790k 4.0 ghz, 8gb DDR4 RAM, AMD R9 390 8gb VRAM. But it's not the editing that's a problem, it's simply playing the clip in QuickTime( which many computers can do), which was shot in 4K, that shows that the resolution is not in 4K.

Ok, I had a feeling that QuickTime might be a problem. What are some other alternatives for QuickTime, that will allow me to play 4k iPhone videos?

Your specs are definitely capable of 4K editing! Windows Media player can play iPhone 4K videos, but may favorite is VLC player. Check it out at videolan.org.

Also, make sure that whatever 3rd party app you're using on the iPhone records in a standard format (like MOV or MP4.) I usually use ProCam for 4K capture, but the built in camera app works fine too.

Well windows media player doesn't seem to be working. I ill download VLC media player when I get a chance to, shouldn't take me too long. Also, I am using the Filmic Pro app to record at 100mbps, should I lower the bitrate? Maybe that could fix the problem?

I can't get WMP or VLC media player to play my recently recorded 4k videos from a concert. Not even a 7 second clip. WMP causes the computer to crash and restart. VLC just won't handle the workload. No pic or it's choppy and scattered but the sound is normal.

Is that it?? What ended up happening.. I don't get it. Is apple making incapable transferring video files to windows?? I'm having the exact same issue with regular videos not in 4K from my iPhone 7.
