Hi all
I have had this problem now for a while now. There is just no way that my iMac sees my iPhone. Both are running the latest updates. I first initially thought it was my iMac that had the problem, but linking up with a macbook pro, there is no issues. It did not work on my old 6s. It got stolen and replaced, and today I have the same problem. The iMac just does not see the iPhone. any help? How to use AirDrop with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Does your iMac meet the system requirement?
Edit* sorry I just saw your title looks like your imac is see this link

yes it does. its a mid 2015 27" 5k imac, 3.3GHz i5, 24gb ram, R9M290 graphics cards. The iphone is a 6s 64gb running version iOS 9.3.2
I followed all the instructions, my airdop on the mac is on, airdrop on the phone is on, i dont use the personal hotspot.. is there any other setting in the sharing that needs to be changed? The weird thing is, airdrop works fine with a macbook pro? It seems like allot of people have this problem.
