Pinkstones hit the nail on the head in stating that the Extensions Gallery has nothing to offer as to weather. Does this indeed mean that there no longer is any such thing? No other way with which to retrieve a weather indication for the Toolbar? If so, that is quite a disappointment!

Not in the form of an extension, no. Not that I've found. I use the app Weather Live, which I bought in the App Store, and it's much better IMO.

FYI Pinkstones: Mostly upon your recommendation I purchase Weather Live on the App Store. It has turned out to be a serious mistake for me. It shows "sunny" when at my house it is raining; My location proved to be community I had never heard of, 60 mi. by road; the community I live in [rural, touristy] does not exist on the site though i routinely find it in "The Weather Channel"; likewise, a larger also rural comm. down the road cannot be found on the site. I have contacted the Papalon website, asking for instructions on how to delete it. In the event that they delay, or fail to, responding to me, do you happen to know how I get it off my computer?

I don't use the Weather Live application. It should offer in its preferences, or directly on the application a place to specify your zip code, or city/town. If it provides neither, and depends on a wireless connection, and System Preferences : Security & Privacy : Location Services : Weather Live allowed to determine your location checked, then I would look at these possibilities.

If none of the above, drag it to the Trash.

Any reason why you do not bookmark the Weather Channel page for your location, add it to your Favorites, and have that shown on your Favorites bar. Weather for your location would be one-click away. I created a Weather bookmarks folder because I have multiple link sources of weather. This folder appears on my Favorites bar, where I can select among multiple choices from forecast to color radar.

I also have Storm by Weather Underground installed on my iPhone. It can even alert you when lightning is a specified distance away.
