    Connect the iPhone to a USB port, unlock it, if it is locked, then launch Aperture and click the Import downarrow in the toolbar.  This should open the Import panel.  It is essentially the same as importing from a card or camera, see this manual page:  Importing from Your Digital Camera or Card Reader

     

    There may be a complication, if you enabled iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone. Did you? What are your iCloud Settings on the iPhone?

     

    If your iPhone is using iCloud Photo Library with optimize storage on, then download the photos from your iCloud webpage at www.icloud.com.  Use the Photos.app and the download button there.
