All my music playlists disappeared off my iPod Touch 4, yet it appears when I plug it into iTunes; how do I get it back on my iPod? Syncing doesn't work.

My music and playlists suddenly disappeared off my iPod Touch 4. I plugged it into my laptop, brought up iTunes and clicked on the IPod symbol and it showed they were fully on the iPod. Yet when I went to my iPod there was no music there. I tried 3 times to sync it and nothing. The playlists I have on iTunes don't quite have all the music on it that my iPod has so it's not a simple task of reloading the playlists. I don't want to have to redo all 20 playlists with over 2,000 songs on them over again. Any answers for why this happened and what I have to do? Thanks.

Glitches like that sometimes just happen.

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync/delete all music and resync

To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

When I go into Manage Storage>Music, it says no data. There is absolutely no music left on the iPod. But when I plug it into my laptop, it comes up and says all my full playlists are there on iTunes yet still doesn't show it on my iPod itself. I think I am screwed and am going to have to reload everything manually. It's going to take a long time. Because the playlists that I originally made on iTunes that correspond to the playlists I had on my iPod don't completely match. The reason is I would add new music to the iPod playlist and not the iTunes playlist. I still don't know what caused it. I know I was updating that stupid Adobe Flash Player and every time I update software, something always seems to go wrong somewhere on one of my Apple device.

Thanks for the advice anyway. 😟
