Q: Final Cut X crashing after 10.11.5 update

Early days for me at the moment.

Some people have had luck re-applying the combo update.

YYou need to look to something else, because this is very stable at the moment. Try testing on a new clean user In a clean library.

After upgrading to macOS 10.11.5, the FCPX (10.2.3) become very unstable.

I have project on my external RAID drive. When I idle a while, the drive stop spinning to save energy and come back again when I continue editing. However, many times when I continue, the FCPX freezes and also for the system. Then, the system goes to kernel panic and reboot itself. Some of the editing data was lost. Very frustrating.

I have not experienced this problem when I was in macOS 10.11.4.

I am using an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), AMD Radeon M395, 24GB ram.

The strange thing is, I have another MBPr (15", mid 2012). I also updated it to macOS 10.11.5 and it does not have this problem. Working on same drive, same FCPX project.

Any solution?

IF the system is crashing to the hardware you should take it to a service technician.

As I have no problem in 10.11.4, I am thinking it is likely a software issue...

Try a new user to test.

Same case here, I use an external drive and it keeps kernel panic'ing. Didn't happen before 10.11.5...

What do you mean "a new user to test" ?
