Headphone jack will not work. Either I get no sound or very garbled sound when I hold the cord in a certain position.

I have an Ipad 4th gen 9.7 in 128 GB Wifi only model purchased in 2013 running the most recent ios update. I recently noticed that the headphone jack will not work when I plug in headphones. I have to partially pull out the cord or hold it at a very odd angle and all I get is very garbled sound if anything at all. I have tried many different types of brand new headphones with no luck.

The only "fix" that I have found is to use Bluetooth wireless headphones. I would like to find a way to fix or replace the headphone jack without paying over $300 for a replacement.

Any tips or information would be appreciated.
