iPhone 6 and Fast Charging

I am thinking about buying one of the Anker Portable Chargers that has Fast Charging technology.

I keep reading that high-speed charging can damage and shorten the battery life of the iPhone 6. Is this potential what will happen if I use this type of charger?

I also read that iPhone 6 or the Apple 5W USB Adapter has Power Management IC that would prevent Fast Charging from damaging and shorten the life of the battery. Is this true? I read this information on this Web site.

As long as the charger is MFi certified by Apple it should not cause any damage. Some chargers will work slightly faster but I would not count on any substantial improvement as the iPhone will regulate the charging process.

Amps are equal to watts divided by volts but as I mentioned 2 months ago, a 12 watt charger will not output 2.4 amps to the phone, the phone will limit it to 1 amp. It would provide 2.4 amps to an iPad.

The iPhone charger provides 5 volts and 5 watts. The phone itself regulates the charging process. If you were to connect an iPad charger (5 volts, 12 watts) it would not cause any damage as the phone would still regulate the current. As long as the Anker provides 5 volts it will not cause any damage either but it will not charge the phone any quicker.

Thanks for responding. So if I understand correctly, even if the Anker is capable of charging faster, the iPhone will always regulate it to 5 volts and 5 watts, correct? What about amps? According to Anker, "Fast Charging Technology: PowerIQ and VoltageBoost combine to deliver the fastest possible charge up to 2.4 amps per port or 4.8 amps overall."

Would Anker's higher amps damage the iPhone?
