Q: Some photos from my iPhone and iCloud are missing in Photos on my Mac.
I connected my iPhone 6 to my Mac today to back it up as well as import photos to the Photos app. Most of the recent photos were imported to the Photos app, but several from a period of 3 days (taken last week) did not appear. Those missing photos are still available in my iPhone 'All Photos' album as well as in iCloud. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the iPhone a few times, but no luck. I also took a new photo and plugged the iPhone in, and it imported that automatically.
I have OS X El Capitan version 10.11.4 and my iOS is 9.3.1.
My Photo Stream and iCloud Photo Sharing are turned on, on my computer and iCloud Drive is turned on, on my phone.
Are there any steps I can take to try to re-import the missing photos? Any thoughts on what is causing this issue?
Many thanks to whoever can give me some tips!

If the normal import process fails - get an account on OneDrive or Google Photos or Upthere.com
You can upload the images to those cloud services via the phone and download them onto the computer
Or you can turn on iCloud Photo Library and use the sync function to make the images appear in iCloud Photo Library on the computer
