Upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 9.3.2 but phone shows error

Good Evening,

I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 9.3.2 and now I cannot get my phone to turn on. If I hold down the power button and/or the home button, all I get is the apple logo and then a screen telling me to connect my iPhone to iTunes. I tried to connect my iPhone to iTunes, but iTunes will not recognize that my phone is connected to my computer. I have tried a hard reset, but with no luck. I cannot get any screen aside from the screens mentioned above, and I cannot get my computer to recognize that my iPhone is attached. Before the update my phone ran smoothly.

Does anyone have any idea how to get my iPhone running properly again?

You're on the right path. You will need to restore your phone through iTunes.

Make sure your iTunes is up to date for starters.

If after updating iTunes, your computer still doesn't recognize your iPhone.

If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

PS - If you are running on an XP or Vista machine, you're going to need to use a computer with a more updated operating system.

I had the same thing happen. Update didn't work initially, got a message that phone wasn't able to be updated. Then chose to "restore" and looks like 9.3.2 is now on my phone. ? Seems to be some weird glitch with this update, I've seen this mentioned elsewhere in the forums. I have a 5.

Having massive problems with this. Quite coincidentally I needed to restore an iPhone SE today and did not realise the new release was so now, so accepted the offer to upgrade. Result was a series of errors, including 4005 and 17. Using the latest iTunes, would not perform the upgrade, would not restore. Fortunately(?), repeated attempts to do a cold restart followed by a restore eventually resulted in a successful restart of the restore process. The SE is less than a week old - not happy!
