Q: Live Photos separated
I need some help. I just came back from my holiday with my family and I took loads of pictures using the 'live photo' feature. However, I made the mistake of importing it into aperture and deleting the pics upon import. So now in aperture I have photos and a Mov file for each live photo. I'm aware that this is how live photos work, it is essentially a jpeg and a mov, but how to I recombine them back onto my phone or on the Photos app on the mac?
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

I tried your folder thing, and photos, as you predicted, does not recognise it as a live photo. However it is possible to recombine the two pieces. There is an app called 'intoLive' that allows you to make any video into a live photo and as a final step after choosing a video you can choose a still picture as the first frame, thus re-combining the two pieces. This is why I said I find it hard to believe that it isn't a simple solution to combine two simple files to act as one. All it takes is for someone to do it first. However, truth be told, it doesn't look like the sound is preserved for some reason, but at the same time, I haven't purchased the pro version, which is £1 something. So any devs out there, there is an opportunity to make some cash...make a live photo creator for the mac, add a feature where you can do batch recombines and stuff. At the moment one can only make a live photo via the new iphone, but it is possible to do it via other means.
