Q: Group Messaging replies not coming to the Group thread

Hello,

I recently changed to iPhone and I am using iPhone 6S with metro PCS. I do not have any issues with sending or receiving messages. But I noticed that when I start a group messaging thread and when some one from that group replies to my message, it does not come to the original group thread I had started instead comes in as individual message from that person.

My version is 9.3.1 and I am with Metro PCS. I do not even have the group Messaging Option under Setting/Messages. Apple store thinks that it is a provider issue and Metro says they don't carry iPhones product line and it needs be resolved with Apple.

My wife is using iPhone 6 ( with version 9.1, I believe) and she has the Group messaging option and it works fine.

I do not know what to do now. Any advises?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

Send a group message with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Is your wife also with Metro PCS?

Do you or said contact your having issue, provision to use MMS and have MMS turned on in message settings -  I believe that will allow you to turn on group message can't remember.

MMS is a carrier feature so contact Metro PCS - it doesn't matter if they don't carry iphones, the ability to use MMS isn't dependent on the device as it is a feature provided by the phone carriers

My wife is also on Metro PCS and my daughter as well. Daughter is using iPhone 5S. They both have the option to turn the Group messaging on or off, but I don't have the group messaging option.

When I was using Android till a week ago, this was fine. My wife and daughter did not have any issues when they switched to iOs from Android.

Don't know why is it like that. U had read that Metro PCS Group messaging is not supported for iPhone 6S, it is only supported till iPhone 6 as of now.

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Are you saying Metro PCS doesn't support group message for an iPhone 6S yet?  if so then that would be an issue.  Regardless you'll need to resolve it with Metro PCS.

Like I said, I am not sure whether that's the issue or not. I had read it somewhere that the group messaging support is only up to iPhone 6.

And like I said you'll need to ask Metro PCS and get your issue resolved with them.

As stated already MMS is a carrier feature.  OR the issue can be the other person phone.

I just found out that my MMS is not working either. I tried sending a picture message and it did not go through. So it has to be some settings that needs to be corrected.

Yea as I've already stated in my last 3 post that MMS is a carrier feature, not an IPhone or Apple feature.

If you were provision by Metro PCS - you would need to turn on MMS in message settings -

Last time I'm going to state this you'll need to take this up with Metro PCS tor resolve your MMS and group messaging issue.

I understood that my friend I was just letting you know about picture messaging. I fixed it.

How did you fix it? I have the same problem under the same carrier. The group messaging replies come individually and there's no group messaging option under MMS. I do have the MMS messaging settings fixed but it didn't help with group messages.
