Q: Photos confusion!!!!

The Photos app is causing me great confusion!!! I have an iPhone, iPad Pro 9.7, iMac and an iPad MIni and I just cannot get the photos I take e.g. on my iPhone to go to my iPad and iPad Mini. All those slider thongs in the Photos Settings confuses me, I've tried following what they're supposed to do but to no avail. I've got 1,222 photos on my iPad, 1209 photos on the iPad Mini and not sure how much on the iPhone but it's more than the iPad.

What's really confusing me are the two sliders that say 'Optimise iPhone Storage' & 'Download and Keep Originals'

Both option say that iCloud Photo Library will be deleted from iCloud in 3 days.

Any advice or instructions of what to do with this app so that whichever device I use to take a picture it will sync to the other devices including my iMac.

Unfortunately confusion still reigns as to what those sliders do in particular the one that warns you of deleting the iCloud Photo Library in 3 days etc etc. Also I can't see any upload progress as is suggested in the Moments screen.

The articles explain what "Optimize Photos" means. If you turn it on, then it will not affect the iCloud Photo Library at all. It will reduce the size of the photos stored on your device.

"Download and Keep Originals" is also explained. It will download original images to your Mac or Device.

You would use this feature if you decided to turn off iCloud Photo Library. When you turn it off, you have 30 (not 3) days to do this before the library is completely deleted.

Again, the articles spell it all out.

Well, take your time and read through the articles. Where possible, practice the points or actions that are outlined. I think that a hands-on learning approach here would be helpful. But don't feel bad. iCloud Photo library, in combination with all of the other photo options and how they are used, and how they work, can be very confusing indeed. If it wasn't written down somewhere, I'd be completely lost
