Q: Water damaged Main Logic board Macbook Pro 15"
So my Macbook Pro 15" (early 2011) with the 2,2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and the dedicated AMD graphics card upgraded to 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD suffered some water damage with the lid closed about two weeks ago.
The computer is working (writing on it right now) but is not recognizing the battery and therefor seems to be running in a "low power mode" and it is also showing some weird behavior by booting up as soon as the Magsafe adapter is connected.

I have turned it in to a repair shop who said the obvious solution was to replace the Main Logic board for a steep 850 €.
However I was thinking if anyone is familiar with what parts of the MLB is dedicated to power management in the computer and potentially could be cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol?
Would anyone advise against trying this approach? Why?
Should I just take the 850€ repair?
