Q: Backing up photos

HI, just got myself an IPad Air 2 (and very pleased with it!). A complete novice so hope I don't embarrass myself with a dumb question!

Right....I have all my photos on an old PC. So, I decided to create an ICloud account on it so I could transfer photos to it and access

them on the IPad. Question though....if I delete the photos from the PC (thinking about binning it) does it delete the photos from the tablet?

Thinking about using the ICloud as my main / only storage area for photos....dont mind paying a bit to upgrade to 50gb.

Second question....my wife has a Samsung Galaxy....how can I set her up so she has access to the photos as well?

Be gentle with me guys!

First, there are no embarrassing questions here, just questions.... they are all good....

I would not use iCloud Photo Library to store valuable pictures. Please read the FAQs below as deleting on one Apple device may delete in all.

I would copy the pictures from your old pc to a hard drive or a large flash drive. This will back them up. If you are getting a new pc then copy them there. If not use a true cloud storage like Dropbox and copy them to your iPad and Galaxy from there. Deleting them in one of the devices will not delete them from Dropbox.

    More questions welcome if desired...

    My pleasure....

Please note that the iPad has no USB input so you will have to transfer the photos by other means.
