I am looking to make a part of someones voice sound almost like the voice of Ghostface in the movie Scream.
Can I do this in FCP ? If not what software, preferably free, would be able to do this?
I have an iMac 27"
I would say you can probably do it in fcp. There are a huge number of audio effects with great control. Dont know what it's supposed to sound like though so I can't help you with that.

I want it to sound a little deeper than his voice, but I don't want it to be recognized.
Almost like in Scream, but no over the top.

There's a whole "section" in Audio Effects called Voice: Alien, Brightness, Cartoon Animals, Cosmic, Disguised, Helium, Monster, Multi-Tune, Pitch, Robot, Transformer, Voice Over Enhancement, and in the Logic section (of the same Voice category): DeEsser, Pitch Correction, Pitch Shifter II and Vocal Transformer.
One of those is likely to get you the effect you want (or better 😉 ) Try Monster first... deeper... definitely. If it's too deep, select the Audio inspector and find the Monster effect and dial the Amount down to about 25.0.
