Q: Can iphoto book project be shared to create with another person?

My niece is making an iphoto book for a reunion and I need to help her with it. She is in New York and I am in Boston. Is there a way she can upload it so we can work on it together online?  Or can she send me what she has created so far in a format so I can take over and complete the iphoto book?

    No

The book does not exist except as database entries so to share it you must share the entire iPhoto library - you can duplicate the library and delete everything except the book and its photos but you still have a large package to share - and there is no way to take changes one of you makes and combine them with changes the other one makes - you would have to work on it, send it to her and she should work on it and send it back for you to continue work on

And both of you would have to have the same version of iPhoto (see below) or of Photos

And then there is the bigger problem that if you really are working in iPhoto where you posted you can not have Apple  print the book after you finish since Apple discontinued support for iPhoto print projects 4/1/2016  --  PrestoPhotos can print iPhoto books and the have been good reports on them here
