Can't access ICloud at System Preferences.  Keeps telling me to reset password.  Resetting password does not work.

    Hi CarmenMoss,

I understand that you are having issue accessing your iCloud account on your iMac within System Preferences. Let's see if we can get that sorted out.

Now I am not sure if this is the case for you, but if you have Two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID, then you might have issues signing in with a previous version of OS X. Looking at your tags, you are running OS X Yosemite and Two-factor authentication only works within OS X El Capitan natively.

If that is the case, then you would need to get a verification code first and then add that code to the end of the password. Take a look at the information below for more details.

What if I use two-factor authentication on a device running older software?

If you use two-factor authentication with devices running older OS versions, you might be asked to add your six-digit verification code to the end of your password when signing in. Get your verification code from a trusted device running iOS 9 or OS X El Capitan, or have it sent to your trusted phone number. Then type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field.

Let me know if this helps.
