Q: My ICloud was hacked, how do I check the location from where it was accessed?

Hey guys, so yesterday my iCloud was accessed from an unrecognised iPhone 5 and I'm afraid my backup might have been downloaded. I need to somehow track the location from where my iCloud was logged in to, so I can figure  who hacked into my account. Is it somehow possible to do that? Maybe apple support will be able to help?

You could try Apple Support but I doubt they can help. To prevent this from happening in the future you should enable Two-factor authentication.

Thankyou for your reply Gino, I have been trying to activate two-factor authentication, but I think I'll need to wait for 3 days before I can do that, or atleast that's what my Apple ID page tells me. However I'm more concerned about how I can find out who hacked into my account and probably stole my data. I hope apple support can provide me with a location from where the account was logged in.

No, don't activate it from your "My Apple ID" web page, that is the older Two-step verification.

To activate the newer Two-factor Authentication follow these steps.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 9 or later:

Go to Settings > iCloud > tap your Apple ID.

    Tap Password & Security.

    Tap Turn on Two-Factor Authentication.

On your Mac with OS X El Capitan or later:

Go to Apple () menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Account Details.

    Click Security.

    Click Turn on Two-Factor Authentication.

Thankyou so much Gino, you've been great help.

I contacted apple support, but they can't help me track down whoever did it, so I think my best option would be to make sure my account is more secure in the future.
