Q: iCal keeps crashing, cannot access Calendars folder in Library

Hi, I realize this question/very similar ones have been posted but I am having trouble with iCal on my Macbook Air. I am running OS X El Capitan v 10.11.5. iCal is not working properly on my macbook; currently when I open it, only about 3 weeks worth of events are shown (all of which are shifted back exactly 4 weeks right now) and no other events in the past or future appear.

I can see all my events both on my iCloud calendars on my iPhone and via iCloud online.

I have tried to access my Calendars folder in Library, but cannot find it there. When trying to delete my iCloud account to put it in again, nothing happens. I hit the delete button and then press delete from Mac but the iCloud account remains there.

I am unsure if this was the issue, but I was subscribed to a calendar and had some issues, so I created a new calendar in iCal to be linked to the subscription. I have tried to delete the original but every time I do so, I have run into iCal crashing. I have seen plenty of forum responses saying that I should go into my

Libraries->Calendars folder but I do not see a calendars folder there.

Any advice on how to remove the calendar and/or get iCal working properly again would be appreciated; thank you in advance for your time!

Hi Boris:  I'm kind of low-tech and don't even have a smartphone, but I also use El Capitan on my iMac 27" and, like Yosemite, the Library Folders and caches should be there.  To get there, hold the Option key down while you're scrolling down the Go column in the upper left.  You should see Library.  It's purposefully designed to use the extra step so you accidentally don't go in it.  You should see Calendars.  I often clear out the 3 caches if there are issues, and they build back up again.  I also try to delete any extraneous files, though I do have ample space on my iMac.  I really don't use a calendar that much but many do.  Hope this helps, but the Library is hidden I guess to make sure you don't go into it too often.
