Dear APPLE support ,

I've a big problem about cameras software. When i take a photo with my iphone 6s i got a different situation.

Costimizing my photo ( by the way ,it's not 3rd party software , its Apple's orginal camera software included iphone6s) to Black and white , after saving my photo '' its ok '' Than i trying transfer my all photos to my '' MAC ''

all black and white color is going back to colorful.Tried to transfer android phone , MAC , Windows PC and there is nothing still colorful and all efect is gone.

My everyting is in there ! My familys photo , my girlfrineds photo etc.. And i don't wanna upload all of them at icloud , It'll take lot of time from me !!

At internet there is nothing ! No solved topics .. Nothing about it !

After all of that , i decide call for Apple call center. He was greatly helpful. After 45 minutes there was no solution again.

Just to clarify for the room, when you are loading these photos to a different destination like your computer or android, for example, you are wishing to keep the edits and filters that you applied, but are not getting those results? Did I understand that correctly?

This is not Apple Support, just other users like you. How are you "transferring" the photos?

    Follow the steps here:

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you just try to copy them you will not import the "sidecar" files (.AAEs) which contain your edits.

You need to follow the importing instructions I suggested before. That will keep all your edits.

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

What Mac OS are you presently on? That may be part of the problem if you plugged your iPhone into your Mac and it didn't save your edits. I know that the present state of things was not always the case in a direct sync to your computer through iPhoto. These days, it is with the latest softwares.

As an alternative, and also listed in the link that elcpu provided, you can utilize iCloud Photo Library for this, and download your photos just as you had them edited on your iPhone through iCloud.com. If you do not presently have the iCloud Storage space for this, you can get 50GB worth for only .99¢ through Settings>iCloud>Storage>Change Storage Plan. It's month by month, so you can remove it any time you like.

I understand your position, but as it is, the software was designed so whatever edits you might make to your photos can always be taken back to the original image in the event you made a mistake and totally ruined some of your photos. That is was elcpu was referencing with the sidecar of .AAE files.

In your position, iCloud will be your best opportunity and it takes little to no effort. To express your dislikes and your desire for another option, you are welcome to leave feedback at Apple.com/feedback. There aren't any other cards on the table to show you though.

You don't need to use iCloud at all. I have a Windows 10 computer as well as a Mac and all you need to do with W10 is to follow the instructions I gave you in the link, look for the lower section on using iTunes to IMPORT your photos to a Windows computer. I do it all the time, no ICloud involved, and it preserves edits with no problems, try it and see.

    elcpu,

The example image above came from the import method as instructed in the article. Have you, by chance, installed some additional software to tether these files together when you import that you may have forgotten about? (The original image, with edit on my iOS device, was done in black and white for this example.

In my experience, you would need a program like Lightroom or Photoshop Express at the least.

[and oh yes, this was done on my Windows 10 partition]

No, I don't use any special program to import. And no I have not forgotten about any software. But it looks like you have forgotten about the expert training you said you had. When a photo is edited on an iPhone, the iPhone creates sidecar files with the extension .AAE. These files are separate from the original. If one were able to look at the file structure inside an iPhone the original and the AAEs would show. Macs used to be smarter than Windows. The import routine in Macs recognized the AAEs and imported them to iPhoto such that the edits were retained. Windows 10 includes this capability and if one imports the files as per the instructions in the link I provided, the import wizard and the Windows Photos App retains the edits. If you go to File Explorer you can still see the separate AAE sidecar files, they are never merged into one file. The AAEs are there just like they are inside an iPhone and inside a Mac but Photos in Windows displays the edited files correctly. This does not occur if a user copies the files instead of importing them. Importing is the key. Macs no longer allow you to copy photos from an iPhone to Finder, you have to import them. Windows still allows copying but recommends importing such that Photos can show them properly. And yes I have both a MacBook Pro and a Dell W10 i7 Skylake.

Running on a clean install of Windows 10, with no additional softwares installed, and while following every line in the article [windows 10 link as well] these are the results after importing using same as I did in the first example. I have opened the images directly from the photos app installed on Windows 10 and these, again, are the results.

First, we have the edit as found on my phone with a duplicate image in it's original state as you will see below it.

    IMG_2036.PNG

    Capture3.PNG

Looking at AutoPlay Settings, you will see that I have set the default correctly for this import. [seen above]

    Capture.PNG

Now importing my photos. [seen above]

    Capture2.PNG

And then of course, we have the results of that import. Even while viewing the image in the Windows Photo app, the edit of that image is not displayed. The screenshot of how it should appear from my iOS screenshot is to the left.

[it doesn't matter, but all tests were done on an iMac 5K late 2015 with Skylake 3.2Ghz i5, 256SSD w/bootcamp install of Windows10]

The easiest way to do what you want is to use iCloud Photos. Just go to Settings/iCloud and turn on Photos. Then install iCloud for Windows on your computer: Download iCloud for Windows - Apple Support.

You can then either keep the photos in iCloud for Windows, or export them to your choice of photo management apps. If you export you will be given the option of the original or the edited version.
