Q: FCP7 not recognizing video coming from After Effects

OK I have a strange one.

I've inherited a project that was created a few years ago in FCP7.

The video was shot on HDV at 1440 x 1080 at 60i (interlaced). It was captured from HDV tape into FCP7 as ProRes 422

I am updating the video and in the process de-interlacing it using Fields Kit de-interlacing tool. Once de-interlaced I have created new progressive files at 1920 x 1080.  It is still ProRes 422

Next I import into Adobe After Effects for color correction, etc. I import with settings to match the video (1920 x 1080 square pixels, progressive, working area 709, etc.)

Once the color correction is completed I export as ProRes 422. I then the new color corrected clip back into FCP7.

And here's where it get's weird. When the color corrected clip comes back into FCP7 and I check in "Item Properties/Format" it shows the video as having a field dominance set at upper/odd. It seems to have become re-interlaced. However, if I take the same clip into Compressor it shows as being progressive.

Does anyone know how this glitch is occurring? Is the problem with FCP7 or After Effects or is it user error?

I am currently mystified.

Many thanks.
