Decimal Db viewing in Logic Pro's mixing faders

Hi people, this is my first post down here. Sorry for my english! :P
That's my problem: In Logic Pro 7.2.3 I use the db viewing on mixer's faders instead of numerical. Now, when the fader is set to "0 db", I see a "0.0" decimal viewing on fader, but when the fader is set to "-11 db", I can't see decimals like "-11.0, -11.2, -11.4" and so on, i can only see the integer "-11".. How could I solve this issue?
Thanks in advance to you all!

Hi SquAr3d,

This is because when you're viewing the fader values as "numerical", the amount of displayed precision is limited to two number places. So you can see 0.0 (2 number places plus a decimal), but you can't see -11.3 (three number places).

The fader values actually give you smaller increments but there's not enough room to show these values displayed on the fader knobs.

Sq,

Were Logic's fader graphics to be re-worked to have more space for numbers, or, were the font size reduced to allow more number places to display in the existing space, we'd then be able to see the same precision as shown in the arrange window (automation enabled). But alas, this is not the case... Personally I'd like to see this happen. In fact, just a few minutes before I saw your post I was lowering the level on an Output and, while the fader was moving, the number wasn't changing (-12, -12, -12). It's a bit lame, but it's been that way since I can remember (been on this program 11 years).

I already own a FreeG by Sonalksis, but i simply don't wanna use it.. I hope instead that anyone at Apple could see this post and fix that scandalous bug! It's not a good thing to buy a 1000 € and more product and to go around a bug like this, trust me! Then, the FreeG coul only operate in insert, while i'm mixing i need to monitor the channel quickly, I can't open a FreeG everytime I use a plug on channel, i'll go mad!!

Sq, it's not a bug; it's a problem of lack of displayable precision caused by a not-very-well-considered mixer GUI. If the faders didn't actually change level, then you'd have a bug. But even though they aren't able to display the values with a useful amount of precision, they still work.

I agree with you, this is a shortcoming that needs to be reviewed -- and changed -- by the Logic team.
