iPhone won't unlock with passcode

When I went to bed last night the phone was functioning fine. I got up this morning- and when I enter my passcode it shudders like its wrong. I tried to turn it off- it won't go off. My lock screen is black (not the picture I use). Now when I use the home key- it won't even pull up the lock screen.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

Try a forced restart and then see if it will accept the passcode. No data is lost with this procedure. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

IF the screen responds when you do this, but you the device will not accept the passcode, you will have to erase it in order to unlock it.
