Q: Some apps & Notes not syncing between iPhone 4S & MacBook Pro

Recently I had to return an employer's iPhone 6. But before I did, I bought a second-hand iPhone 4S.

I synced the iPhone 4S via iTunes and then wiped the iPhone 6 and returned it to my employer.

Everything seemed to be fine, but now I've discovered that not all apps and not all Notes are syncing between the iPhone 4s and my MacBook Pro.

The list of apps showing up in iTunes on my MacBook Pro is much shorter than the apps actually on the iPhone 4S. It seems to be only those apps I've downloaded since the switch from the iPhone 6.

Is there a way to sync iTunes on my old MacBook (which has all the old iPhone apps) with iTunes on my new MacBook Pro (which has all the new iPhone apps)?

All insights appreciated!

If it was an employers phone, what applied was used to download apps? Or did your employer push apps to the phone?

if you didn't purchase apps using your applied, then they won't be downladable on your new device.

    Thank you for responding, jaxjason.

Most of the apps were transferred from my personal iTunes account. My employer did push some apps, but I'm not interested in having these and they are not the ones missing.

There could be two possible reason for this to happen,

    1. You used a different Apple ID to log in the first time when you downloaded the apps, or
    2. you have them hidden from viewing in the App Store. Which you can check from your desktop or laptop computer using iTunes.,Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases - Apple Support

    Thanks, jaxjason! You've done it!

When I followed the instructions in your "Hide and Unhide" link (with settings as below), I found all my apps — all 199 of them!

There were 112 showing on my iPhone, but only 19 showing in iTunes (available to my iPhone, not in the iTunes store).

After much downloading and syncing and downloading and syncing and downloading and syncing, all 199 apps are now available to my iPhone in iTunes. Though I still only have 112 actually on my iPhone, which is all I have room for.

At least now I know everything is synced up properly. And available if I want it.

Thank you so much for your help!
