Camera: video will only record gray

So I've realised that my iPhone no longer records videos properly.

I don't often record videos so when I tried to snapchat a video I was surprised it didn't work.

I next tested the ordinary camera app to record a video however all it did is record the audio with a gray background.

My phone will take photos on both cameras without a problem but the video function no longer works.

I would really like my phone to work properly again, I've tried resetting, a hard reset, changing camera settings but nothing has changed.

I'm currently using an iPhone 5s 64gb running the latest iOS 9.3.2. and did not originally have any problems with the camera.

Anyone else have this problem?

Try a Forced Restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything.

If a forced restart does not help try a System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data. Try restoring from backup first and testing it. If it does not help, you may have to restore as New and reconfigure from scratch as the backup could be corrupted. For this reason it is important to have your photos and data saved separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a Restore:
