Tell us a Story of all your actions - in detail, from before you began with any change made ("Updated" you say?) -- leave no detail out... we need to paint a mental picture of what you have experienced

May 21, 2016 12:28 PM in response to elcpuby nanamom05,Elcpu,
I am trying to restore my phone. How long does it usually take? It has for over 1 hour showed 2 hours remaining. I don't think it is doing anything. What do you think?
Thank you

May 21, 2016 12:33 PM in response to nanamom05by elcpu,It depends on the connection speed and the amount of data to be restored. 3 hours seems too long but not unheard of. Living out in the suburbs I have a 15 Mbps connection and restoring 32 GB devices has never taken longer than 1 hour. You could wait a bit or just try again depending on the current status.

May 21, 2016 12:33 PM in response to ChitlinsCCby nanamom05,I read to hold the off button on iPhone and the home button did that the apple logo came on. The phone then went back to showing the iTune logo and charger. Hooked to computer then hit to update. That didn't work so then hit to restore. For over 1 hour it showing it needed 2 hours never changed time. The picture where iPhone is on iTunres showed it was in recovery mode and downloading. Did this for almost 2 hours. I hit restore again and it is still doing the same thing.

May 21, 2016 12:34 PM in response to nanamom05by elcpu,Ok, try it this way to see if it helps.
Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo.
Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen and wait for it to restore.
Restore as New first and then restore from backup if desired.

May 21, 2016 4:08 PM in response to nanamom05by elcpu,How long have you been waiting now? Seems like 6 hours and if so that does not seem right. You may have to start over again. How fast is your connection?

May 21, 2016 5:32 PM in response to elcpuby nanamom05,I would say ,slow. Yes still updating. I don't think it is going to work. Any other suggestions? I can't afford new one and this is all I have no home phone just had it turned off.
