it really depends on the software, some do take up more storage than the previous ones and some others save you storage. I see you are on iOS 9.3, so don't worry, if you are thinking of updating to 9.3.2, there won't be any noticeable difference. And keep in mind that this is completely normal as the software itself take up storage, and we apple users are quite lucky as android takes much more space.
