Q: Quicktime fullscreen problem

With Quicktime in fullscreen, any alert, such as the phone ringing or a text, will bounce me out of fullscreen but the video will keep playing offscreen. To get back to the movie, I'm forced to select the movie file in the windows menu. This is a problem because I'm bounced out of something I was watching and then it takes forever get back in again. Apple-F and esc don't work.

And please don't tell me to disable notifications.
