Q: Bluetooth magic mouse and keyboard disconnect when another Mac is used nearby

I have a MacBook Pro running El Capitan. I use a bluetooth magic mouse and bluetooth keyboard. These peripherals work great until my office mate uses their iMac, also running El Capitan, with their own bluetooth magic mouse and bluetooth trackpad.  As soon as they start using their peripherals, my mouse and keyboard stop working. I get connection lost messages for both. They intermittently reconnect and disconnect.  I've tried cycling bluetooth off and on, unpairing and repairing peripherals, rebooting laptop, ... Nothing works. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

You have an interference problem.   The first thing to do is to try to isolate the offending equipment by removing all your colleague's equipment and reintroducing it piece by piece into your area.   When you have identified the offending item is when you can take action.   It could be something carried by your colleague, like heavy jewelery.

Thanks for the reply.  My bluetooth peripherals start their disconnect+reconnect cycle when he starts using his bluetooth peripherals with his iMac. If he is at his desk, but not using his bluetooth keyboard and trackpad, my keyboard and mouse work fine.

You're welcome.   But have tried removing his keyboard and mouse one at a time or tried even using each other's keyboard and mouse either one at a time or a complete (temporary) exchange.    You need to isolate the offending device.
