Q: QuickTime V 10.4 Sound Stops Recording While Recording Video

When recording a screen recording, the audio sometimes stops recording. I'm not aware of this until I play it back. The loss of sound recording is preceded by some strange static distortion in the audio, and then it stops playing. The video continues to play, however. This is a random event. Sometimes it happens far into the recording, but sometimes it happens in the beginning.

I have combed the internet looking for a solution to this and have had zero success. Hopefully someone out there has had this happen and found a solution. Please help!
