Port Mapping on the AirPort Time Capsule can only be enabled if you have the correct type of modem on your network.

So, we would need the make and model number of the device that you call your "modem" before we can proceed. Please post back that information.  We do not need a serial number.....only the manufacturer name and model number of the modem.

Please see this AirPort User tip for details on configuring an Apple base station, including a Time Capsule, for port mapping/forwarding.

Tesserax wrote the book on Port Mapping and Port Forwarding, so you have excellent advice from one of the top experts on the forum here.

Perhaps the most important starting point that is mentioned in the document is to

    • Verify that the Router Mode = DHCP and NAT

If you have the correct type of modem connected to your Time Capsule, the Router Mode will be DHCP and NAT.....and you can proceed.

However, if you find that the Router Mode on your Time Capsule is not DHCP and NAT, then this indicates that you will need to set up Port Forwarding on the device that you call your "modem".

That's why we asked for the make and model number of your modem.......so we can get you started on the right track.
