Q: Deleting photos from my phone, do they stay in the iCloud?

I hope i can articulate this correctly.

I want to delete some photos off my phone, do they still stay in the iCloud after the fact?

Or, if I upload them to my iPhoto in my Mac, will they stay there or because it's also connected to the cloud, they'll be deleted too?

I've tried googling this issue but I haven't got anywhere.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.0.2

HI, thanks for your reply.

so how can I transfer them without them being deleted? Find a Windows computer and do it manually that way?

You need to answer questions as well as ask

Are you using the iCloud Photo Library, yes or no will suffice

Yes, you should keep full-resolution copies of all images on your computer. iCloud Photo Library is a syncing service, not a backup or storage service.

If your concern is storage space on your iPhone, sel ct Photos to keep an Optimized library locally on your device.

I use iCloud over all of my devices including the photos so I can use the photo stream. If I turn off the photo side on my mac, will it sync when I connect and keep the photos or will I have to do it via windows and dropping them manually from my phone to a folder?

Every time I try and promote apple products to my friends, apple does something like this to make me not want to bother.

I want to put a screen cap to show my settings but it won't insert. I've turned off everything to do with the iCloud.
