Q: Can't close Safari pages when voice over is turned on

is there a way to close a Safari page when voice over is on.?  I.m using iOS 8 on an iPad and iPhone 5S. Clicking on the x in the upper left corner does not close the page. I have to turn VO off to close pages. As I am blind this means I have to have someone do it for me

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.1

Yes, there is a way to close tabs in Safari with VoiceOver on.

    1. Double tap the pages button in Safari
    2. Find and tap on the tab you want to close
    3. Swipe up or down with one finger on the screen until you hear "close tab"
    4. Double tap to close the tab

    * If the above does not work at any time, you can tap on the tab and then change the rotor to actions to close tabs.
