Q: Moving iTunes library to new Mac from PC via online backup

I have a new iMac (OS version 10.11.5) with iTunes 12.4.0.119.  Previously I was using a PC running XP Pro and iTunes.  My data, including my music, was backed up to the cloud using iDrive.  It was my plan to download the music from the cloud following the Apple instructions: move the empty iTunes folder to the desktop, and restore the iTunes folder from my PC to the Home level in the Finder.  This was perhaps complicated by the fact that my iTunes folder from the PC was a bit messy and the active folder was not named "iTunes Media" but "October 2013", though there was an iTunes Media folder in the iTunes folder with some other stuff in it.

After some futzing around I ended up with duplicate song titles, one copy of each song title unfindable (with the !) but carrying my rating from before, and the other copy findable but with no rating.

Then I downloaded the iTunes folder again from the cloud to the desktop and deleted the obsolete iTunes Media folder. I renamed the downloaded folder iTunes from PC. I dragged the main iTunes folder to the desktop and renamed it iTunes from Mac.  I dragged the iTunes from PC folder to the Home level of the Finder and renamed it iTunes, and started up iTunes.  iTunes had cleverly followed the progress of the old folder onto the desktop with the name change, so under Preferences/Advanced, I instructed iTunes to point to the iTunes folder at the Home level of the Finder.

iTunes then asked me if I wanted to reorganize the library to comply with my preference of keeping the iTunes Media file organized.  Following that, I am back to having duplicate songs.

Would someone please suggest how I can get my music onto my new computer without losing my ratings and other information?

Thanks!
