Restore case sensitive backup to insensitive drive

Hi

Situation: OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) Working with a case sensitive file system and want to install Adobe software like Photoshop.

Problem: Adobe software can only be installed on case insensitive file systems.

Why do I post that issue again while this issue is treated already in other posts?: This issue is not really solved anywhere. Many "maybe it work this way", "try that, it might work" just don't help but cost hours spending for trial-end-error!

So if anyone from the Apple Support "really!!" knows if it works and how I get it done, I would be so very pleased to find the answer below!!

The migration of my case sensitive backup to the new formatted insensitive drive was denied due to different file systems! (Some people here claim, that it works that way, but it doesn't!).

cheers nik

Hard to find anything in the archives about this. I found Xsan- Unable to enable case insensitivity on a volume - Apple Support, which is the only thing I found related to the problem. I had more success with Google:

osx - Mac - Convert from Case-Sensitive to Case-Insensitive File System - Super User

osx - Convert a partition from case-sensitive to case-insensitive - Ask Different

If you are willing to spend some money, then buy iPartition which is supposedly able to make the change.
