Q: How can I use a pop up menu to change values in Numbers?

I would like to use a pop up menu to show different values based on what I select.

example: projects

sheet 1: projects to complete, broken down by supplies, each supply has the price. I currently have this set to show me all resources neede to complete everything, I'd like to set it up so I can choose from a pop up a character, building, etc and have it show me how much is needed for that.

    Hi Blackjack,

I am sure Numbers can do what you are asking but I don't understand your table- what data you want to move from where and to where.

What would be in the popup, where would the popup be and where would the data be displayed.

I've updated my spread sheet; legend follows.

the red box is the pop up menu, it contains all of the information in the dark blue box along with the word "Everything"

i would like to select one of those options and move the information from the selected row to the row that says total needed(highlighted in green. As an example, if I select Black Panther from the pop up, I'd like everything highlighted in light blue to be displayed in the green area. The same for each of the other names, and if I choose "Everything" I would like it to add all of the information in a column and display it in the green highlighted area. The rest of the formulas are already in place.

    Hi Blackjack,

Here is an approach that should do what you want. As Numbers encourages multiple tables I created a report table to do what you are asking. It would work the same if you kept it in your original table. I added a footer for "totals" that sums the columns.

My popup in the report table has all the values in Table 1 column A and "totals" instead of "Everything"

    The formula is filled across.

You can accomplish the same with LOOKUP() but I find the INDEX MATCH combo more flexible and easier to fill.
